Comparison between Recessive Genetic Male Sterile Triple and Single Cross Rapeseed Hybrids

Hou Shumin et al (Crop Research Institute,Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences,Hefei 230031)
Comparison of recessive genetic male sterile triple and single cross hybrids in rapeseed ( Brassica napus L.) indicated that there were no significant differences in yield, resistance (tolerance)to sclerotinia stem rot and other agronomic characters among those hybrids. The triple cross hybrids can be commercially used instead of single cross hybrids,so that it did not need to get rid of 50% male fertile plants in producing hybrid seeds, and lowed the cost, improved the yield of hybrid seeds production.
