Analyzing Origin and Evolution of Cotton Genome A by RAPD-PCR Technology

Zhu Meixia et al (Hebei University of Engineering, Handan,Hebei 056038)  
We employed 21 cotton materials for analyzing their genetic diversity by RAPD-PCR technique.The results showed that average distance among G. arbortum., G. herbaceum.,G.barbadense and G. hirsutum were 0.431?7,0.394?6,0.419?3 and 0.431?8,respectively, which revealed that it was closely similarity of genome A between G.barbadense and G. herbaceum, meanwhile it was also similarity of genome A between G. hirsutum and G. arbortum. The results reflected the relationship between of alltetraploid cotton and diploid cotton. In this study,the primarily conclusion was that RAPD-PCR was suitable tools for analyzing the genetic diversity, relationship and evolution in cotton germlasms.
