Diurnal Variation of Photosynthesis of Aglaonema modestum

Through the researched on the photosynthesis character of earth culturing and still hydroponics Aglaonema modestum by Li-COR 6400 portable photosynthesis system,the diurnal net photosynthetic rate of Aglaonema modestum in sunny day varied with the character of double peak curves. The peaks occurred at 10:00 and 14:00 respectively. Obvious phenomenon of "middy depression" was at noon. The light intensity was the largest at noon, vapor pressure deficit between leaf and air reached maximum, but air relative humidity and stomatal conductance were minimum, and hence photosynthetic middy depression occurred. It is better to water-cut after soaked with growth regulator and NAA than to water-cut directly without any treatment.
