Effect of Genotype and Environment Factor on the Phytic Acid in Sweet Potato

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of genotypes and production locations on content of phytic acid in the storage roots of sweet potato.A multi-location trial was conducted to determine the content of phytic acid in 21 cultivars grown at 5 locations with wide ecological differences.The results from the analysis of variance indicated that locations and genotype existed highly significant effects on the content of phytic acid,but there was significant genotype by environment interaction effect.Therefore,the plan of sweet potato production in areas favorable for change in the phytic acid was recommended.The selection of cultivars with stable performance in phytic acid was also suggested.
