Effect of Medicinal Herbs or Compound of Dilludines and Medicinal Herbs on Semen Quality of New Zealand White Rabbits

Each group of six rabbits was randomly allocated in treatments to research the effect of Chinese medicinal herbs(contained Epimedium and semen custutae,prepared rhizome of rehmannia and so on) on semen quality of New Zealand white rabbits.Chinese medicinal herbs were added in each experimental group.The results demonstrated that during ten periods of 8～14 days and 15～21 days after the feeding of medical herbs,there was greatly significant difference between the two groups in ejaculate volume,sperm concentration and motility(P 0.01);during the 10 days after the termination of the feeding of medicinal herbs,remarkable significant differences were observed between the two groups in semen volume(P 0.05),and sperm concentration and motility were still markedly significant differences(P 0.01).But the sperm abnormal acrosome rate had no obvious changes in the whole experiment.It showed that Chinese medicinal herbs can improve the semen quality of rabbits,and be good for the value of rabbits in practice.
