Study on Genetic Variation and Genetic Diversity among Masson Pine Natural Populations of Hubei Province

DING Xiao-fei et al (Hubei Province Forest Tree Breeding Center,Wuhan,Hubei 430079)  
We have studied genetic structure of seven natural populations of masson pine(Pinus massoniana Lamb.) using isozyme analysis.The results showed there was very high level of genetic variation in the populations.The proportion of polymorphic loci,average number of alleles per locus,and average expected heterozygosity were 1.00,3.63,and 0.262,respectively.The FIS values indicated predominant excesses of homozygotes and deficiencies of heterozygotes were present within the populations.Considering the previous studies and speices characteristics of the species,the distortion of genetic composition would be related to the forest history of the populations.
