Effect of Salt Stresses on Different Chinese Cabbage Seed Germination

CUI Hui-mei et al(Department of Horticulture,Agricultural College,Shihezi University,Shihezi,Xinjiang 832003)
The variation of germination characteristics of Chinese cabbage(Brassica campestris ssp.) varieties was studied and compared to determine the effect of NaCl stress on seed germination. The seed germination energy, germination percentage and seedling growth were tested. The results showed that the seed germination and seed germination percentage were decreased with the increment of NaCl concentration. The radicle growth was greatly inhibited under NaCl stress.Integrated valuation of the salt tolerance of these 6 varieties showed that the salt density must be controlled under 1.0% when the cabbage was germinating. The variety-Biyu had the significance difference compared with other varieties and was growing well under 0.6% of salinity.
