Preliminary Study on Antifungal Activity of the Extract from 7 Medicinal Plants

The antifungal activity of the water and ethanol extracts from 7 medicinal plants were tested with 3 phytopathogens.The results showed that under the concentration of 0.1 g/ml,the water extract of Macleaya cordata and ethanol extract of Sapium sebiferum had more than 60% inhibiting rate against the hypha growth of Alternaria porri and Fusarium oxysporium f.sp.niveum individual and they had obvious antifungal activity.The activity of the extracts of Sapium sebiferum against Fusarium oxysporium f.sp.niveum,the extracts of Macleaya cordata against Alternaria porri and the ethanol extract of Polygonatum sibiricum against 3 phytopathogen.Sapium sebiferum,Polygonatum sibiricum and Macleaya cordata needed to be further studied.
