Studies on Combining Ability of Major Agronomic Characters in Hybrid F_1 of Photo-sensitive Rice and Upland Rice

Combining abilities of 12 major agronomic characters in representative hybrid F1 of 2 photosensitive rice varieties and 5 upland rice varieties were analyzed by field test and observation and by SAS software analysis.The relation between general combining ability and specific combining ability of different agronomic characters and the competitive advantage of F1 was also studied.Results showed that Nongken 58S played an important role in improving yield and 7001S had an effect on dwarfing plant type.7001S was the better maternal line,while Hanxun 1 was the better paternal line.And Nongken 58S×S64,7001S×Reda 1,Nongken 58S×Hangxun 1 were ideal hybrid combinations.The combining ability effect on the competitive advantage of the F1 was positive correlation.
