Effects of Seed Soaking with Uniconazole Solution on the Morphological and Physiological Index of Wheat Seedlings

[Objective] The study was constructed to investigate the effects of seed soaking with different concentrations of uniconazole solution on the morphological index and physiological index of wheat seedlings.[Method] Using 4 treatment as seed soaking with uniconazole solution of 20,40 and 60 mg/L and CK,the effects of seed soaking with different concentrations of uniconazole solution on the morphological indexes(plant height,root length and the root-shoot ratio) and physiological indexes(chlorophyll and malondialdehyde(MDA) contents,germination potential and germination rate,cell membrane permeability of leaves) of wheat seedlings were studied.[Result] Uniconazole inhibited the growth of aerial part.Treating with uniconazole of 20 mg/L,the root length of wheat seedling was longest,being 11.17 cm.Treating with uniconazole of 20,40 and 60 mg/L,compared with CK,the root-shoot ratios were increased by 106 %,100.0 % and 80.4 %,the chlorophyll contents were increased by 18.7 %,11.1% and 6.3 %,the MDA contents were decreased by 12.5%,21.88 % and 9.38 %,and the relative electrical conductivity of leaves were decreased by 26.09 %,32.61 % and 19.57 %.The germination potential and germination rate of wheat seedling treated with uniconazole of 20 and 40 mg/L were increased by 55.5 % and 22.2 %,50 % and 39.9 % respectively,while those of wheat seedlings treated with 60 mg/L uniconazole were lower than CK.[Conclusion] Seed soaking with uniconazole promoted the growth of strong seedling and strengthen the plant resistance,which was propitious to the wheat production.But it should be paid attention to control the concentration and the treatment with 20 mg/L uniconazole had the best effect.
