Study on Correlation of Quality Characters and between Quality Characters and Agronomic Characters of Hybrid Rice

LI Guo-peng et al(Institute of Techniques for Agricultural Biology,Guangdong Ocean University,Zhanjiang,Guangdong,524088)  
Five male sterile lines(Zhan A,Shuangqing A,Wanjin A,22 A,zhenshan 97A)and five restorers(R128,R122,R46-1,R15,Zhilong)were selected.Twenty-five Hybrid rices were made by incomplete diallete cross(NCII)design.The correlation of quality characters and between agronomic characters and quality characters of Hybrid F1 was analyzed in the late season of 2005.The resultes were as follows:① The coefficients of correlation between brown rice rate、milled rice rate、head rice rate and other quality characters weren't reach to the level of significant.The coefficient of correlation between kernel length/width and kernel length was extremely positive significantly,while and kernel width was negative significantly at 1 % level.The coefficients of correlation between chalk rice rate and kernel length、kernel length/width、chalk rice area were negative significantly at 1 % level,while and kernel width、chalk rice grade were positive significantly at 1 % level.The coefficients of correlation between cooking characters and other quality characters weren't significant,while the coefficient of correlation between amylose content and gelatification temperature was negative significantly at 1 % level,and protein content was positive significantly at 1 % level.② The relationships between plant height、panicles per plant and quality characters weren't high.Except the coefficient of correlation between plant height and head rice rate was positive significantly at 1 % level,the coefficients of correlation of the others characters weren't reach to the level of significant.The coefficients of correlation between spike length and kernel width,chalk rice rate were negative significantly at 1 % or 5 % level,while and kernel length was positive significantly at 5 % level.The coefficients of correlation between length of rice and chalk rice rate,width of rice and chalk rice area,and rice length/width and chalk rice rate were negative significantly at 1 % level,while width of rice and chalk rice rate was positive significantly at 1 % level.
