Toxic Effects of Compound Pollution with Heavy Metals on the Growth of Wheat Seedlings

[Objective] The research aimed to provide basis for revealing the compound pollution mechanism of heavy metals.[Method] The effects of single and compound heavy metals on chlorophyll content in wheat seedlings were studied by using water culture method.[Result] When 5 kinds of heavy metals including Cu,Cd,Cr,Pb and Zn played their functions singly,they had a promotion effect on the synthesis of chlorophyll in wheat seedlings in low concentration range and a significant inhibition effect in high concentration range.When Cu combined its function with 4 other heavy metals,their combined effect types showed a synergistic effect of Cu and Cd,antagonistic effects of Cu and Cr,additive effect of Cu and Pb,and antagonistic effect of Cu and Zn.[Conclusion] The compound pollution mechanisms of different heavy metals were different.
