Breeding and Application of Hybrid Late Japonica Rice with Middle Mature Jiayou 2

[Objective] The purpose of this research was to popularize the hybrid late japonica rice with middle mature Jiayou 2.[Method] The yield performance and characteristic of Jiayou 2 were observed through tests and demonstration in various places and its cultivation techniques were sum up.[Result] Jiayou 2 showed the characteristic such as early mature,wide adaptability,easy planting,strong high temperature resistance in heading stage,big ear and more grains,high yield,good blast resistance,excellent rice quality and well rice taste,which was examined and approved by Crop Variety Examine and Approve Committee of Zhejiang province.[Conclusion] Jiayou 2 was suitable to be planted as single cropping and continuous cropping rice in some provinces such as Zhejiang,Anhui and Hubei.
