Study on the Effects of Ginsenoside on Immune Function in Fowl

The objective of this experiment is to study the adjusting immune function of ginsenoside extracted from leaves of Panax ginseng on fowl immunity function and provide basis for the application of ginsenoside in animal husbandry.One-factor variance analysis was adopted in this test design.Ginsenoside was received by fowls through different ways.Meanwhile,fowls were challenged with ND inactivated oil-emulsion vaccine and ND inactivated oil-emulsion vaccine with ginsenoside respectively.Liquid of Escherichia coli was received by intravenous injection and blood was taken sample for bacterial culture and counting at day 35.Weight increasing and weight of immune organs were compared respectively at day 60.Isolated serum from fowl of different stage and hemagglutination inhibition test was done to detect HI antibody level.Results: compared with control group,ginsenoside improved immune response to Newcastle disease and the high level antibody kept for a long time.There were no significant differences in the weight increasing among the 5 groups.The result indicated that ginsenoside can promote the production of specific antibody in fowl and activate the macrophage activity of mononuclear phagocyte system in fowls.
