Study on Diversity Investigation and Superior-tree Selection of Ornamental Tree Species Platanus orientalis

[Objective] The research aimed to select superior trees from in street tree Platanus orientalis in the urban district of Liaocheng city and select P.orientalis trees with excellent synthesis traits.[Method] With P.orientalis as the investigation objects,based on the investigation of sample plot,good trees were selected by using the unified investigation standard and superior-tree selection standard.Height,circumference and crown width were dealt with by variance analysis,the variation coefficients of each traits were analyzed and the candidate superior trees were selected by using the method of small sample plot.[Result] F values of height,circumference and crown width were 1.43,2.16 and 1.98 respectively,none of them was bigger than F0.05 value(2.99).CV values of all traits except height in 5 blocks were more than 0.20 and CV value was over 0.33 on the whole.The rates of candidate superior trees selected by the method of small sample plot in each spot all exceeded 60%,being 86.1%～98.2% and that selected by the method of 5 big trees all exceeded 30%,being 31.4%～57.8%.[Conclusion] The selected sites had no obvious difference.Based on this,it was feasible to make diversity investigation and selection.All the traits of P.orientalis had wide variations in the whole investigation process.According to the fraction standard,the results were comprehensively evaluated to select 2 superior trees of P.orientalis with good comprehensive traits.This research laid good foundation for the breeding of P.orientalis in future.
