Effects of Cold-wet Stratification,Light and Temperature on the Seed Germination of Alpine Meadow Plants

[Objective] The research aimed to provide scientific basis for the resuming construction of alpine meadow vegetation.[Method] The effects of 3 ecological factors including cold-wet stratification,light and temperature amplitude on the seed germination of 15 kinds of common alpine meadow plants were studied preliminarily.According to the responses of 15 kinds of plants to 3 factors,they were divided into different function reaction types respectively.[Result] Cold-wet stratification,light and temperature amplitude had significant effects on the seed germination rate of 67%,67% and 60% tested plants resp.Scirpus pumilus had no reaction to any factor or combination and its seed germination rate was all zero.Cold-wet stratification had significant effects on the seed germination of 10 kinds of plants.The germination rates of Elsholtzia ciliata and Thermopsis lanceolata showed positive correlations with light.The germination rate of Potentilla fragarioides L.was lower under all conditions,but it was significantly increased under light conditions.Temperature had a significant effect on the seed germination of 9 kinds of plants and high-temperature amplitude increased the seed germination rates.[Conclusion] The effects of 3 factors on the seed germination on the tested plants were different and had greater differences.
