Study on the Agricultural Drought Monitoring Models Based on Remote Sensing

Based on the principle of drought monitoring, the existing agricultural drought monitoring models based on remote sensing were summarized beginning from soil moisture, vegetation index, land surface temperature and so on. The advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of models and the applicable range of them were analyzed. The vegetation temperature condition index( VTCI) and the temperature vegetation dryness index( TVDI) were analyzed emphatically, and point out that they should be the simplification of normalized difference temperature index(NDTI). Compared with other methods, they were practicable and their precisions could meet the requirement of daily routine. The development direction and goal of drought monitoring based on remote sensing were forecasted.
