Design of Soil Erosion Research System Framework Based on GIS

LIU Yu-hong et al (China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou, Jiangsu 221008)  
The technology of geographic information system (GIS) was adapted into the soil erosion research system. By combining spatial data and property data and providing a brand-new decision by visualizing the data, GIS technology greatly enhanced the soil erosion research. The main functions of the system and its secondary development based on using ArcSDE as engine of special data, ArcGIS Engine as developing components were discussed. These technologies played an important role in soil erosion application.
