Research on the Dynamic Change of the Vegetation Coverage in the North Shore of Qinghai Lake with RS and GIS Technology

The vegetation is one of the most important indicators in measuring of vegetation status,as well as the important parameters in a wide range subject.In this paper,the vegetation index from the Qinghai Lake watershed was extracted with two-phase TM and ETM datum and according to vegetation index transformation model,the vegetation coverage level was calculated with vegetation index.The vegetation coverage degree would be divided into four different levels and the change of vegetation coverage under spatial distribution was analyzed.The comparative analysis of vegetation cover change showed the reasons of the change in the vegetation cover,which provided the reference for the protection of the ecological environment in Qinghai Lake Basin.
