Effects of Different Sowing Date and Planting Density on the Yield of Rice Xiushui 128

[Objective] The research aimed to confirm the suitable sowing date and planting density of Xiushui 128.[Method] Four sowing dates and three planting densities were designed to study the effects of different sowing date and planting density on the yield and the economic traits of Xiushui 128.[Result] The highest seedling number,the number of effective spikes and the spike-bearing rate were increased with the prolonging of sowing date.The seed-setting rate first increased and then decreased with the prolonging of sowing date.When the sowing date was June 5,the yield was highest.The highest seedling number and the number of effective spikes were increased with planting densityincreasing increasing and the spike-bearing rate was decreased with planting density increasing.When the planting density was 13.3 cm×20.0 cm,the yield was highest.The effects of sowing date on the yield of Xiushui 128 was greater than that of planting density.[Conclusion] Under the conditions of medium soil fertility,sowing on June 5,transplanting on June 30 and the planting density of 20.0 cm×20.0 cm,the yield was highest,followed by that of sowing on June 15,transplanting on July 10 and the planting density of 13.3 cm×20.0 cm.
