Study on the Effects of Soils from Different Rocks on the Growth of Cryptomeria japonica

[Objective] The research aimed to further study the correlation between the growth of Cryptomeria japonica and soil and provide basis for its reasonable distribution.[Method] The quartz sandstone,coal measure arenaceous shale,purple sandstone,the quaternary clay,calcite dolomite and metamorphic sandstone in middle Guizhou were selected to plant C.japonica so as to observe its growth conditions in soils from different rocks.[Result] The preservation rate of C.japonica on quartz sandstone and coal measure arenaceous shale was higher,while that on the quaternary clay was lowest.Soils from different rocks had certain effects on the tree height growth of C.japonica and the effects became smaller and smaller with the increasing of the growing years.The effects of soil from different rocks on the ground diameter growth of C.japonica had significant difference in early growth stage(P0.05) and the difference gradually decreased with the increasing of the growing years.The effects of soils from different rocks on the growth of diameter at breast height in C.japonica had no significant difference.[Conclusion] The C.japonica planted in soils from different rocks reflected different adaptability and growth effects.
