Molecular and Physiological Mechanisms of Higher Plant Abiotic Stress Adaptation

Abiotic stresses,especially drought,high salt and freezing,affected severely on the normal growth of plant and productivity of important crops globally.Plant evolved an array of physiological,metabolic and defensive system to adapt to environmental stresses.The expression of specific stress-induce genes and their products play key roles in plant abiotic stress tolerance.Advances on molecular and physiological mechanisms of higher plant abiotic stress adaptation and engineering plant were reviewed and future research topics were discussed in this paper.
