Molecular Markers and Its Applications in Maize Research

SUN Li-na et al (Maize Research Centre,Beijing Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences,Beijing 100097)  
The rapid development of molecular marker technology promoted the progress of the maize research.The principle and characteristics of various common used molecular markers,such as AFLP,RAPD,RFLP,SSR and SNP were outlined.And the applications of molecular marker technology in the analysis of maize genetic diversity,division of heterosis groups,molecular marker-assisted selection in breeding,QTL orientation research and variety identification in the recent years were also summarized.
