Development of Plant Breeding Selection Technology and Its Theoretical Basis

The selection was one of the most important links in new varieties of plant breeding work.The development and principle of many methods in plant breeding selection technology were introduced systematically in this paper,including basic single plant selection and mass selection,and its various derived selection methods: single seed descent(SSD) method,derived system,the modified pedigree/bulk selection method(MODPED) and the recurrent selection of selected bulk selection method(SELBLK) and etc.With the application of the technology of modern molecular maker-assisted breeding and computer simulation in plant breeding,the future development of plant breeding was discussed.
