Effects of Sink-Source Relation on Roots activity in Hybrid Rice

[Objective] The study was to give a theoretical base to further improve the yield of hybrid rice.[Method] With Liangyoupeijiu and Shanyou 63 as tested materials,part stem and leaves were snipped in the heading stage and the relationship of sink-source ratio and roots activity was studied.[Result] Compared with Shanyou 63,the root activity in Liangyoupeijiu was decreased fast;the seed setting rate of superior grains and inferior grains,and time difference of filling peak were different obviously and its output rate was higher;the content of available sugar was lower in maturation stage and the ratio of sink capacity and efficient population index was higher.The 32 P absorption amount in root and transportation rate of 2 varieties in each treatment were decreased with the time delay after the heading stage,and that of Liangyoupeijiu was higher than that of Shanyou 63 in normal condition.After sniping 1/3 stem for 15 and 30 d,the 32 P absorption amount was all higher than that of without treatment,but the transportation rate was all decreased than that without treatment.After snipping the last 3rd and 2nd leaves for 15 and 30 d,the 32 P absorption amount in 2 varieties was lower than that of without treatment.[Conclusion] Flower thinning could delay the decrease of root activity and the treatment of snipping could promoted the decrease of root activity.
