Study on Kinetics of Photodegradation of Supported TiO_2 on Landfill Leachate

[Objective] The study aimed to discuss the influencing factors and reaction kinetics of photodegradation of TiO2 supported on glass on the landfill leachate were studied.[Method] 600 ml landfill leachate(pH of about 8,COD of 300~600 mg/L) with a certain concn.was taken,and the catalyst of nm TiO2 /glass tube membrane was inserted in it.After the air was pumped in,the high pressure mercury lamp with 400W was inserted in the tube to irradiate.The effects of the factors such as reaction time,influent concentration,pH value and intensity of light source on the CODCr and chroma removal rate of the landfill leachate were studied.[Result] The higher the light intensity was and the longer the illumination time was,the better the catalytic effect was.The higher the initial concentration of the solution was,the lower the degradation rate was.It was beneficial for carrying through the photocatalysis reaction when the reaction solution was under the deflecting acid and alkali conditions.The study of kinetics showed that the reaction of photodegradation on landfill leachate conformed to first-order kinetics.The reaction rate equation was Ct=C0e-0.023 8t mg/L(the initial CODCr was 472.7 mg/L).[Conclusion] It was feasibile of using supported TiO2 membrane as photocatalyst for degrading landfill leachate.
