Study on Oxidation Resistance of Pigment from Porphyra tenera Kjellm in Coastal Beach

[Objective] The aim was to provide the scientific basis for the further study and the development and utilization of Porphyra tenera in coastal beach.[Method] The dried frond pigment was extracted from P.tenera in coastal beach by ethanol extraction.The clearance rates of the pigment on hydroxyl radical and DPPH· were detected by Fenton reaction and DPPH· methods and its oxidation resistance was studied.[Result] When the concn.of frond pigment from P.tenera in coastal beach and the BHT were 0.10 g/L,the clearance rates of the pigment and BHT on hydroxyl radical were 57.2% and 67.8%,resp.The dried frond pigment of P.tenera in coastal beach had obvious scavenging effect on DPPH· and the scavenging effect increased with the increase of the concn.in the range from 0.05 g/L to 0.80 g/L.The clearance rate of 0.10 g/L BHT on DPPH· was 75.8%.When the concn.of the dried frond pigment from P.tenera in coastal beach and the BHT were all 0.10 g/L,the clearance rates of the pigment on hydroxyl radical and DPPH· were 84.4% and 86.0% of BHT,resp.[Conclusion] The dried frond pigment from P.tenera in coastal beach had stronger oxidation resistance.
