Effect of Dehydration Treatment on Seed Germination of 2 Kinds of Wild Gramineous Forage

[Objective] The study was to explore seed germination ability of different forage under drought condition and provide the theoretical basis for recoverying grassland vegetation and reseeding production practice.[Method] With the seed of wild Leymus chinensis and Bromus inermis as tested materials,the dehydration time(1,10 and 20 d)and dehydration temperature(20 and 30 ℃) were set up to make for dehydration treatment,and with the method of germinating seeds on paper under variable temperature condition of 15/25 ℃,the germination rate and germination index of seed were detected.[Result] After hydration-dehydration treatment,the seed germination rates of L.chinensis and B.inermis were all decreased and the decrease amplitude of L.chinensis was 5%-13%,that of B.inermis was 5%-10%.The dehydration time and dehydration temperature all had some effects on seed germination rate and germination index of L.chinensis and B.inermis,and the L.chinensis seed could endure dehydration at low temperature for long time(20 ℃,20 d),B.Inermis seed could endure dehydration at high temperature for short time(30 ℃,1-10 d).[Conclusion] The abilities of dehydration tolerance of different forage varieties were different.
