Study on the Population Dynamics of Bactrocera dorsalis in Lujiangba Area

LIU Li et al(Department of Biology and Chemistry,Baoshan Teachers College,Baoshan,Yunnan 678000)
The population dynamics of Bactrocera dorsalis was monitored through methy1 eugenol-baited traps all year around from 2006 to 2007 in Lujiangba Area. And meanwhile, the effects of temperature and host plant on the population fluctuation of B.dorsalis were studied. The results indicated that the B.dorsalis occurred all year round in Lujiangba. Its population remained low in winter and increased steadily in summer and reached the peak in July. The monthly mean temperature all year round was suitable for its development and reproduction in Lujiangba.Mango and longan were the most preferred host plant for the B.dorsalis.The fruiting period and production were the major factors influencing the population fluctuation of B.dorsalis.
