[Objective] The reference basis for the yield and nutrition value of Typha latifolia was provided through the research on the reasonable harvesting time.[Method] The contents of moisture, starch, protein, organic acid and vitamin C of Typha latifolia rhizome in different growth stage and collecting interval time were analyzed.[Results]The results indicated that the moisture content in fresh and tender rhizome reached more than 90%,which showed the descending trend with growth period extension. The rhizome had maximal starch content(amount to 4.98%)at 21-25 leaves stage, and maximal contents of protein and vitamin C at 16-20 leaves stage, reaching to 0.455% and 0.186% separately. While the content of organic acid in rhizome was relatively little, less than 0.030%,which was almost same at different growth stages.Under the interval collection of 10 days, the contents of protein, organic acid and vitamin C were maximum, and reach to 0.455%,0.020 and 0.185 respectively. And starch content was increased with the interval time-prolong of its collection.[Conclusion] The most proper collection stage and interval time should be the time that rhizome was growing with 16-20 leaves in each interval collection of 10 days,as the rhizome collected in this time had higher nutrition value.
