Analysis on Relationships of Radar Reflectivity and Rain Rate Based on the Raindrop Spectra

[Objective] The purpose was to measure precipitation of high spatial and temporal resolution.[Method]The observation results of laser particle detector were validated by observing precipitation and rain intensity data with automatic tipper-hopper type rain gauge.Based on the reliability of the droplet's numbers and diameter,the formula of index relation about log(Z)-log(I) and I-Zo was founded according to year,month and main types of weather during rain fall weather.[Result]The results indicated that the fitting rate of exponent relationship of Z-I、log(Z)-log(I) and I-Zo established according to 4 kinds of main precipitation weather was highest,all correlation coefficients were over 0.96 and got across significant correlation test.The exponent relationship of Z-I、log(Z)-log(I) and I-Zo established according to 4 kinds of main precipitation weather was first choice which the rain intensity was inversed using reflectivity factor(Z)detected by radar or echo intensity(Zo).There was a maximum rain intensity(Imax) when echo intensity was given.[Conclusion]Using above relation can offer some important information that forecast strongly rain weather according to the echo intensity of radar probing.
