Study on the Bioavailability of Heavy Metal in Farmland in Guangzhou

[Objective] The scientific basis in the study on the bioavailability of heavy metal in soil: cadmium,chromium,copper,lead and zinc was provided.[Method] The contain of the heavy metal: cadmium,chromium,copper,lead and zinc in the soil of paddy field and dry-land in urban village of Guangzhou city was determined and the bioavailability of those heavy metals was discussed based on the extraction and measure of the existence form of cadmium,chromium,copper,lead and zinc with the method of five-classification.[Results] The results showed that the contain of cadmium in the village's paddy field and dry-land soil was 6.87 times and 10.23 times of the secondary-level of value of Environmental Quality Standard(GB15618-1995),respectively;the copper,4.68 times and 3.76 times; the zinc,1.22 times and 2.01 times;and the contain of lead and chromium can meet the demand of the Standard.In paddy field soil,the cadmium and chromium existed with the residue-stated,copper,with organic compound-stated;the lead,with both residue and organic-stated;and the zinc,with iron/manganese compound-stated.In dry-land soil,the cadmium,chromium and lead existed with residue-stated;the copper,organic-stated;and the zinc,with iron/manganese compound-stated.[Conclusion] There was high bioavailability of the heavy metal when they existed with on exchangeable and carbonate state.The sum of exchangeable and carbonate state of the cadmium in paddy field and dry-land soil was 0.32 mg/kg and 0.31 mg/kg,respectively,which was more than the secondary level of value of the Environmental Quality Standard(GB15618-1995).Thus,attention to the pollution caused by them should be paid.
