Analysis of the Climatic Characteristics of Gloomy Weather in Liuzhou and Countermeasures

According to the meteorological data of the ground from 1963 to 2007 observed by Liuzhou weather stations,this essay attempted to analyze the climatic characteristics of gloomy days in Liuzhou City.The results showed that gloomy days at most occur in Dec.and at least in July,and more than 70% gloomy days occur in autumn and winter.Actually there is an upward trend in the number of the yearly gloomy days which can be divided into three stages: the slowly rising development with a few cloudy days between the mid 1960s and the late 1970s;the sharply rising development between the late 1970s and the late 1980s and relatively balanced development but also with a severe level between the early 1990s and 2007.And the pollutants' density in the atmosphere exerts evident influences on the gloomy days' yearly variation,while monthly and quarterly distributions are mostly controlled by weather and meteorological conditions.This study also gave the directions to decrease the frequency of occurring gloomy weather and came up with some tactics to forecast and forewarn such weather.
