On the Antioxidation Activity with Thin Layer Chromatography of the Extraction from Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch leaves

[Objective] To provide basis to develop and utilize Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch.[Method] The fresh Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch were treated with hot water,beaten,filtrated,dried in the vacuum condition and then antioxidation materials was extracted from the concentrated stuffs by ethanol,acetone,chloroform,ether and petroleum benzene and their antioxidation activity was compared.The components of antioxidation materials were analyzed quantitatively by chemical predictive method and thin layer chromatography.[Result] All extracts from 5 kinds of organic solvents has an antioxidation effect,among which ethanol extract has much stronger antixoidation performance with an optimum concentration of 0.14%,which is slightly lower than that of 0.02% Tea Polyphenols but higher than that of 0.02% BHT and Vitamin C.The analysis result showed that the main components of antioxidation materials from Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch leaves were flavonoids,terpenols,organic acid and phenol compounds.[Conclusion] This study figured out the components of organic active materials from Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch leaves and the optimal extracting solvents.
