Study on the Extraction Technique for Free Radical Scavenging Substance from Pogadatree Flower(Sophora japonica L.)

[Objective] The research aimed to study the extraction technique for free radical scavenging substance from Pogadatree flower(Sophora japonica L.).[Method] The best extraction technique for scavenging DPPH radical,hydroxyl radical and superoxide from Sophora japonica L.were determined by orthogonal experiment.[Result] The results showed that the best extraction technique for scavenging DPPH radical was: 50% ethanol as solvent,pretreatment time of 12 h and extraction time of 1 h.The best extraction technique for scavenging hydroxyl radical was: 30% ethanol as solvent,pretreatment time of 12 h and extraction time of 2 h.The best extraction technique for scavenging superoxide was: 50% ethanol as solvent,pretreatment time of 0 h and extraction time of 1 h.The extraction solvent concentration was the main factor of influencing to scavenge the DPPH radical,hydroxyl radical and superoxide from Sophora japonica L..[Conclusion] The study provided the theoretical basis for applying the extracts from Sophora japonica L.in anti-aging food.
