Effect of the Drought Stress on the Physiological Variation of Seven Species of Tree seedlings

[Objective] The theoretical basis for the production practice of the urban landscape was provided.[Method] The annual seedling such as clove,katsuratree,Japanese pagoda-tree,border privet,amur barberry,golden caryopteris and gloss privet being taken as experimental tree,the content of chlorophyll and proline,the permeability of plasma membrane were measured and compared under continued drought stress.[Results] With the strength of drought stress and the prolong of duration,the content of chlorophyll in the leaf of 7 seedlings showed a clear downward trend,and the largest drop was of border privet and clove;the smallest decrease was Japanese pagoda-tree and golden caryopteris.There was an upward trend in the content of praline and the permeability of plasma membrane,and in the relative permeability,the largest value appeared in clove seedlings and the smallest value,Japanese pagoda-tree;in the content of praline the increasing order was Japanese pagoda-tree amur barberry clove.[Conclusion] The resistance of 7 species to drought stress from strong to weak was as follows: Japanese pagoda-treeamur barberrygolden caryopterisgloss privetkatsuratreeborder privetclove.
