Study on Fingerprint of Volatile Oil of the Flower of Gardenia by GC-MS

[Objective] To establish the method of fingerprint analysis on volatile oil of the flower of gardenia by GC-MS to provide reference for quality control of gardenia.[Method] Volatile oil were obtained by steam distillation,and the chromatographic fingerprint were determined by GC-MS.mutual fingerprint of eight samples of the essential oil of the flower of gardenia was established by the alike calculation software of Chinese herb fingerprint spectra recommended by National Medicine Supervision Administration.[Result] RSD of precision,repeatability and stability is less than 5 %.Compared with mutual fingerprint of the essential oil of the flower of gardenia,the correlation coefficient of eight samples of the essential oil of the flower of gardenia can be used for quality control of gardenia essential oil.[Conlusion] The method is reliable and accurate,which can be used for quality control and identification of gardenia volatile oil.
