Preparation of Nano-plant Sterol Ester by Oil-in-water Micro Emulsion Method

[Objective] The aim was to discuss the effect of preparing nano-plant sterol ester by oil-in-water micro emulsion method.[Method] The proper emulsifier,emulsification temperature and the mass ratio of water and emulsifier were selected,the complex formulation was done according to different HLB values of surfactants and the nano-emulsion of nanosize plant sterol ester was prepared by oil-in-water micro emulsion method.[Result] When selecting HLB 11 to make complex formulation with HLB 16 and HLB 7.5,the HLB value of the system was no less than 13.0,and the 3 kinds of surfactants for complex formulation could be dissolved in the water-soluble materials completely.When the water-glycerol ratio was 1 to 1,emulsification temperature was 60 ℃ and pH value was 6.0,the formed emulsion was most stable.The plant sterol ester particles prepared by oil-in-water micro emulsion method distributed in 200-300 nm and the distribution was even and focused on 263.9 nm.After deposition,the emulsion was stable and had no float and sedimentation appeared.[Conclusion] The research laid the foundation for the production of functional materials.
