Study on the Cutting Propagation Experiment on Lespedeza formosa

[Objective] The aim was to explore the rapid seedling raising technology of Lespedeza formosa.[Method] With the same-year-old twigs and 1-2-year old branches of L.formosa as cuttings for cutting experiment,the effects of different cutting sorts on rooting rate of cutting and different hormone treatments on rooting quality of twig cutting were studied.[Result] When the middle part of the same year-old twig with lower lignification and basal part with higher lignification were chosen as cuttings,their rooting rate was 32.40% and 9.26% resp. whereas that of the older branch was 0.The tests of adopting two hormone treatments of the rooting powder No.1 and NAA with concn.of 200,500 and 800 mg/L resp.showed that the rooting powder No.1 and NAA all could increase cutting rooting rate,and raised gradually with the increase of treatment liquor concn.,in which the rooting powder No.1 with concn.of 800 mg/L got the best treatment result,with rooting rate up to 46.3%,being 42.86% higher than that of control one.[Conclusion] It's suitable to adopt the same-year-old twigs as the cutting of L.formosa,gand rooting quality could be improved by using plant hormone for treatment.
