Pharmacological Test Study on Analgesic and Anti-inflammatory Effect of Gracilaria lemaneiformis

[Objective] The study was to provide the theoretical basis for extraction and application of medicinal components in Gracilaria lemaneiformis.[Method] With Kunming white mice(18-22 g) as the tested animals and the treatment with distilled water as CK,the effects of intragastric administration with 10 ml/kg compound aspirin(APC) and 10,20 ml/kg extracts from G.lemaneiformis on pain and auricle swelling of mice were studied.[Result] Before treatment the pain threshold of white mice in CK group and treated group with 10,20 ml/kg extracts from G.lemaneiformis were 29.67±7.49,31.67±5.31,28.57±5.39,32.52±5.58 s resp,and those were 28.50±5.45,44.50±4.45,42.43± 3.91,58.31± 3.17 s resp.after treatment.The times of writhing response were 22.0±0.8,13.0±7.2,9.3±4.1,4.4±1.1 times resp.and the auricle swelling rate were 0.085 95±0.015 38,0.063 18±0.010 49,0.064 07±0.017 62,0.046 30±0.011 14 resp.[Conclusion] The extracts from G.lemaneiformis had obvious analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects,and the effects was positively related with drug dosage in a certain range.Its anti-inflammatory effect at low dosage was equal to APC and that at higher dosage was better than that of APC.
