Comparative Analysis on Growth and Morphology in Yangtze River Stock ♀,Zhujiang River ♂ and Their F_1 Hybrids of Juvenile Grass Carp

[Objective] This study was to study the growth and morphological characteristics of juvenile hybrids of grass carp.[Method] Using the Yangtze River stock and Zhujiang River stock grass carp and their hybrids as experimental materials,the growth and mophmetric parameters of three populations including selfing generations of YR(Yangtze River stock♀×Yangtze River stock♂),ZR(Zhujiang River stock♀×Zhujiang River stock♂) and hybrids F1(Yangtze River stock♀×Zhujiang River stock♂) were measured at 50th and 170th day after hatched,respectively.[Result] The orders of the body weight,body length and absolute growth rates(AGR) were F1 ZRYR.At the 50th day,the differences among offsprings were not significant(P0.05),at the 170th day,the differences turned out to be extremely significant(P0.01).The AGR of F1 was 20.00% and 50.00% faster than those of ZR and YR,respectively;there were no significant differences(P0.05) between F1 and ZR,while the differences between F1 and YR were significant(P0.05).F1 showed a significant super-parent vigorous rate(20.09%).There were no significant differences(P0.05) among three groups in standard length / total length,whereas there were significant differences(P0.05) among them in head length / total length,body depth / standard length and body width / standard length,indicating that F1 has the characteristics of shorter head,higher and wider body.[Conclusion] The new crossbreed F1 is a good variety in growth-performance and physical characteristics.
