Inhibition of Bacillus subtilis EB-28 Against Phytophthora infestans and Control Efficacy on Potato Late Blight

[Objective] The inhibitory activity of the bacterial suspension and the filtrate of Bacillus subtilis EB-28 against Phytophthora infestans were tested at different stages in vitro.[Method] The fermented liquid,the bacterial suspension and the filtrate of EB-28 were prepared.The research contents included the effects of EB-28 against theP.infestans,the effects of EB-28 filtrate against the mycelium of P.infestans,the inhibition of EB-28 bacterial suspension and filtrate on the release of zoospores from sporangia,and the control effects of EB-28 bacterial suspension and filtrate against the potato late blight by the detached-leaf experiment and the pot experiment.[Result] The results showed that the filtrate of strain EB-28 strongly inhibited the release of zoospores from sporangia,and the inhibition rate was 91.26%.But the filtrate of strain EB-28 almost had no effect on the inhibitory activity of the mycelia growth.The control efficacy of the bacterial suspension in pot experiment could be 74.22%,which was significant higher than that in detached-leaf experiment(55.68%).While the control efficacy of the filtrate of strain EB-28 was 61.80% in pot experiment and 60.54% in detached-leaf experiment.[Conclusion] The study can provide the scientific basis for the research and application of EB-28 in controlling the potato late blight.
