Impact of the Depth of Wheat Sowing on its Resistance to Cold

[Objective] The variation principle of the physiological characteristics of the resistance of the spring wheat under the different sowing depths to cold temperature was experimented.[Method] The spring wheat variety-Yumai No.2 being taken as experimental material,the physiological indicators of the cold-resisting of the variety under the different sowing depth of 2,4,6 and 8 cm in seedling and over-wintering period was determined and the relationship between indicators and cold-resisting was analyzed.[Result] The cell membrane permeability,the content of malondialdehyde(MDA),the content of total sugar,the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD),the activity of peroxidase(POD),the content of proline(Pro)showed an upward trend in the overall,however,the change was inconsistent with difference in wheat sowing depth.[Conclusion] The wheat sowing depth affected its cold-resisting and the strongest resistance of wheat to cold was in the sowing depth of 2-4 cm wit good seedling growth.
