Study on Soil Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Pinus massoniana Plantations in Dry-hot Valley of the Northwest of Guangxi

[Objective] The aim of the study was to provide important reference value for afforesting Pinus massoniana plantations.[Method] In the Nanpan river valley margin area,6,10,14 years-old Pinus massoniana plantation soil profile were selected,by the state standards the soil physical and chemical properties were determined.[Result]The results showed that: The soil bulk density of 0-100 cm soil layer were 0.997-1.606 g/cm3;total porosity were 42.56%-61.03%;ventilation rate were 4.36%-39.45%.The pH value of 0-40 cm soil layer were 4.33-5.33,organic matter content were 9.02-49.99 g/kg,full N were 0.54-1.58 g/kg,full P were 0.35-0.86 g/kg,full K were 6.69-20.68g/kg.[Conclusion]The research demonstrated that the soil bulk density were larger,aeration were common,soil organic matter and N,P,K nutrient content were lower in Pinus massoniana plantations in dry-hot valley of the northwest of Guangxi.
