Effects of Trace Element Manganese on the Root Activity and the Content of Active Components in Aloe barbadensis Mill.

[Objective] The effects of Mn2+ concentration on the root activity and the content of aloin and aloe-emodin in Aloe barbadensis Mill.were studied.[Method] The sandy culture experiment was carried out.[Result] The results showed that the trace element Manganese had significant effect on the root activity and the content of aloin and aloe-emodin.When the concentration of Mn2+ in the nutrient solution was 1.0×10-5 mol/L,the root activity and the content of aloin and aloe-emodin were the highest.The content of Mn2+ in the Aloe barbadensis Mill.increased as the concentration of Mn2+ supplied improved.[Conclusion] The study can lay the basis for producing the Aloe barbadensis Mill.with high content active components.
