Effects of Urea Application on the Yield Formation and Chlorophyll Content of Winter Radish

[Objective]The study aimed to research the relation of chlorophyll content in the rosette stage and the yield in harvest stage for winter radish with the nitrogenous fertilizer rate in the corresponding stage.[Method]With the cultivated late-maturing winter radish bred in Guangdong Province as the tested material,the urea application treatment was set up as 5 N application levels:0,70,130,190,250 kg/hm2(marked as N0,N70,N130,N190,N250 resp.) and the leaf chlorophyll content in the rosette stage and the yield gained in the harvest stage for winter radish were made for dynamic analysis.[Result]Among 5 treatments with different N application levels,the chlorophyll content in the leaf of winter radish showed a logarithm increasing trend with the rising of the N application rate,in which,The chlorophyll content in N130 treatment was highest(0.461 mg/kg FW) and its difference with that in N190 and N250 treatment was not obviously.In the harvest stage,the root yield in N130 treatment was the highest(65.5 t/hm2) and that in N250 treatment was next(63.5 t/hm2) ;The leaf yield of winter radish in N250 treatment was highest(17.7 t/hm2) and that in N130 treatment was next(12.6 t/hm2).The root yield and the leaf yield had extremely obviously positive correlation(R2 = 0.980 9) and obviously positive correlation(R2 = 0.789 1) resp.with chlorophyll content.[Conclusion]The research suggested that the suitable N application rate for winter radish in this area should be 150 kg/hm2.
