Immune Regulation of Cartilage Polysaccharides in Stingray

[Objective] The research aimed to observe the effects of cartilage polysaccharides in stingray on the weight of immune organs(thymus and spleen) and the expression levels of cytokines IL-2,IL-6,IFN-γ in the spleen cells of mice.[Method] The cyclophosphamide(CY) was given by intraperitoneal injection to make the immunosuppressed model of mice.Taking lentinan as a positive control,low,middle and high dosage of cartilage polysaccharide were given by intragastric administration for 14 days.The weight of thymus and spleen were weighed to calculate the thymus index and spleen index.The expression of cytokines in the spleen was detected.The antigens corresponding to antibodies were used to detect the expression level of IL-2,IL-6,IFN-γ in the spleen by using immunohistochemistry SP method.[Result] The cartilage polysaccharides in stingray could significantly enhance the weight of thymus and spleen in mice,antagonize the immune suppression caused by cyclophosphamide and increase the expression level of cytokines in the spleen to enhance the body's immune function.[Conclusion] The cartilage polysaccharides in stingray has some regulatory role in the immune function of mice.And it is a kind of good immunomodulator.
