Content and Distribution Characteristics of Heavy Metals Elements in Latosol in West Hainan Island

WANG Jun-guang et al(College of Geography and Tourism,Hainan Normal University,Haikou,Hainan 571158)  
Taking the west areas of Hainan island as research area,and using on-site sampling and laboratory analysis testing methods,the content and the distribution characteristics of heavy metals in soil were studied.The results indicated that the content range of heavy metal elements in both eluvial horizons and illuvial horizons had a positive correlation with the content range in parent material horizons.HMEs in both eluvial horizons and illuvial horizons were associated with the heavy metal elements in parent material horizons.Although only a little amount of trace elements had undergone vertical migration in the latosol profiles,the contents of trace elements and their spatial variation can be changed.Trace elements in the soils such as As,Cd,Pb can be enriched in the lower layers of the latosol profiles because of the influence of human's activities.
