Distribution and Transport of Heavy Metals in Water Phase and Suspended Matter in Lower Yangtze River

With water and suspended matter from lower Yangtze river as the researched objects,the distribution and enrichment condition of heavy metals in main stream and tributaries was studied.The results showed that the contents of heavy metals in water phase showed opposite seasonal variation characteristics with those in suspended matter.The adsorption capacity of suspended matter on heavy metals was stronger in dry season and the desorption capacity of it on heavy metals was stronger in wet season.The contents,variation coefficient and partition coefficient of heavy metals in suspended matter in tributary were higher than those in main stream.The contents of heavy metals in different section showed as Jiangsu sectionAnhui section Shanghai section.
