Modification and Property Determination of Lauryl Polyoxyethylene Ether

[Objective] The research aimed to improve the comprehensive surface performance of lauryl polyoxyethylene ether (AEO3) by means of modification.[Method] AEO3 was synthesized from lauryl alcohol and epoxy ethane,which reacted with liquid chloroacetic acid to produce modified AEC.The prosperities of AEO3,AEC,AES,sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate were determined and compared.[Result] AEC had high surface performance,good wettability,good foam properties (including foamability and foam stability),good detergency ability and low surface tension,which suggested that the product was an anion surfactant with excellent comprehensive performance.[Conclusion]AEC,which was synthesized from AEO3 and chloroacetic acid,showed higher comprehensive surface performance that AEO3.
